You may already be aware that the Christian MIDI File Webring has been shutdown voluntarily. Don and Carla Goyette have been an incredible blessing to us here at Gift on the Altar. They were most gracious to add our site to the web ring and we received many additional visitors because of the ring.
While we fully understand why they are voluntarily shutting down their ring, we here at Gift on the Altar Praise want to remind you, our users, that we will continue to provide ALL of our songs on the Internet. Moreover, we can do this because the songs are OURS!! We own all rights to our songs, so we truly can distribute them freely. We never publish MIDI files for songs we do not own, so you can rest assured that Gift on the Altar Praise will remain "on the air"!
We will continue to distribute sheet music, MIDI files, MP3 files, and RealAudio files freely (and the Volume 1 CD is still freely available as well!). The only time you need to ask for permission concerning our songs is when you want to record them or distribute our materials for retail sale. Then, you MUST contact us and we'll talk about selling you a license to do so.
So, nothing is changing here at Gift on the Altar Praise. We're sorry to see the MIDI Webring go. Don and Carla have been such a WONDERFUL blessing to us, and we hope that they would consider restarting the MIDI web ring and, this time, have sites like ours on the ring that really do own the rights to the songs they publish. Then there is no problem and the MIDI police won't be knocking at our door!
